One of the highly anticipated titles of CD Projekt Red – Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to launch officially on December 10. However, just before a week of its launch, it has received a massive 43GB update. This news came out after the YouTuber DreamcastGuy, who already has the retail copy of the game, shared a screenshot on Twitter about the massive update size.
The screenshot shared by DreamcastGuy shows a bulky 43.5GB update. Undoubtedly, that’s such a huge update for a game that asks at least 70GB of storage to install and run. However, it appears like that’s not the only patch players should expect to install. According to the reply of CDPR PR manager Fabian Döhla on DreamcastGuy’s tweet, this might be a pre-release update for Cyberpunk 2077. He replied, “It’s an update but – fun twist – not the update we’ll have for launch.” This means there will be one more update to download on the launch date of the title.

While it’s unclear what this pre-release update is for, it appears to be a bug-fixing and stability update to fix some pre-release version issues. While the game is still a week ahead of its official launch, CD Projekt will be doing their best to launch the game at its best.
At the other end, Cyberpunk 2077 can be preloaded now on Xbox consoles including Xbox One and Xbox Series X, leaving behind PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 that will be able to pre-install the game at midnight local time on December 8. Besides, Cyberpunk 2077 preload will be available for PC starting December 7.
